The fire charmer
Earlier in January I was able to visit my other family who are located in Tennessee. One of many talents in the family is one who can charm fire, and luckily enough I had brought my camera with me that night. I hope you enjoy the images as much as I did taking them!

Love love this tree at the Four Seasons Hotel Chicago. Wonderfully decorated by the Joffrey Ballet. Covered with worn ballet shoes and adorable nutcrackers.

holiday events
To celebrate my sister’s birthday, we went to the Peninsula for their awesome Brunch. It was absolutely delicious! And I couldn’t resist taking a few ‘mini’ shots of the city that I love and the gorgeous decorations the Peninsula had put up. ps We passed Colin Farrell on the way in. Did not stop to take a photo or for an autograph, my eyes were on the prize and the prize was bacon.

Blackhawks Win!
I adore my point and shoot, the Canon G12. My absolute favorite feature is the miniature scene, where it makes almost anything look mini. It’s soo much fun to use! :D So even though we had awesome seats, the players really did not look this small, I used the mini feature anyway and came away with these two shots.

Cloud Gate at Cloud Gate
I had the most fantastic opportunity this past Tuesday to photograph the amazing performance company: Cloud Gate Dance Theatre of Taiwan at Cloud Gate Chicago. Below are some of my favorites. They are performing at Harris Theater this upcoming weekend: http://www.harristheaterchicago.org/events/2011-2012-season/water-stains

Shadow
One of my favorite things to photograph is the Student Performance Nights at Columbia College Chicago. The students perform without boundaries and it shows that they are fearless in experimenting with dance.

mini adventures
I am totally in love with my point & shoot camera from canon, the g12, and my favorite part of it is the miniature setting. I went on a small break with my family this past weekend up to Wisconsin, and as you can tell I used the mini setting a lot. The photos were taken in Ephraim and in Egg Harbor WI.

I recently got the most amazing point and shoot camera from Canon, it is pretty fantastic. My favorite feature of it is the possibility to make things seem ‘miniature’, like the first photo below taken at Tampa, FL. The rest were taken around the Cayman Islands, Isla Roatan, and Belize.
Honestly had no idea that string rays could be this huge. MASSIVE!

Portland OREGON
I recently visited a friend of mine who lives in Portland, and luckily it happened to coincide with Portland’s First Thursday. First Thursday is when the galleries of Portland open their doors, and have receptions. It was great to walk around, see the different galleries, artworks and people out. Below are some images I took while we wondered around the Pacific Northwest College of Art.

Christmas time was here
A few of my favorite ornaments are from my Grandma New York’s collection that my dad has. While waiting on my sister to arrive to celebrate I took the opportunity to use my macro, love, to get up close to my favs. And then turned to the poinsettias that my Uncle Pete sent us; i love the slight change of the focus. It started to snow and i had to get close to the melted ones.

McNally/Livermore/Schlesser Thanksgiving
The McNallys, Livermores, and Schlessers celebrated Thanksgiving a bit early this year since the family will be apart on the actual holiday. A few favorites and to show how one turkey can be cooked, with one cheese cloth.
My uncle the instigator; he brought Bob a nerf gun. It was the cutest thing watching Bob hunt for the cat.
My cousin billy checking out the turkey goods being carved...
McNally/Livermore/Schlesser parties
The past couple of weeks my family has gotten together and I am the official photographer of all the parties.. The first photographs are from a pizza party at my grams’ place in order to switch our names for the Christmas grab bag. The kid with the toupe looking hair is my cousins son, cooper, who apparently is rocking out to music too much and is rubbing his hair away. My mom, holding him,...

Jake & Stephanie
This past weekend I photographed my first engagement couple portraits. I was a bit nervous since I knew Jake doesn’t like being photographed and they are good friends of mine so I wanted to give them great shots. I’ve known Stepho, inside joke nicknames, for about six years when we met at Columbia during a digital photography course. We quickly became good friends when we realized our...

This happened quite a few weeks ago but am now just getting around to posting a couple photos. It started off as a usually hot one off day in chicago, then the clouds and fog ran in from the lake:

I posted two portraits of Rory mainly because I really like both of them. The first one shows Rory interacting with his work, and the second one, where you can see him fully, is the one I used in the interviewing process to obtain his critical reflection.

Space & Artists part I
The following portraits are of 10 individual artists who are, or were, students of Newcastle University’s Fine Art Department. I asked for permission of the artists in the Fine Art Department who were willing to be photographed, as well as granting me access to their studio space while they were working. After documenting the artist in their space, I later met with them to view the images as well...

Rome, Italy
What a way to start the month of June! Norway to start, and Italy to end it. Below are few of my absolute favorite shots from my long weekend trip to Rome; especially the last shot with the chalk saying “We are against War and the tourist menu” on blackboard.

Norway adventure!
At the beginning of June, Laura, partner in crime, and I went to visit her lovely aunt & uncle who live in Norway. How amazing is that? Not only did we see their adorable flat on the waterfront in a beautiful town Son, pronounced Song without the “g”, but we also spent time in Oslo. It was a fantastic trip, and I loved every minute of it. Well, except when I was attacked by...

Degree Show aka UK's Manifest
This past Friday, Laura, Alex & I went to the opening night of Newcastle University’s Fine Art Degree Show. It was really nice to see all of the artwork from the graduating seniors in a studio and gallery setting. Although, overall, it was not Manifest. Below are my favorite shots of the night! life in Newcastle
Lately my life has been crazy, although really, whose life isn’t? Below are some of my favorite shots from the past couple of weeks. Friends birthdays, hot weather for England = bbqs, and shorts!, after finals means relaxing in the park with a book and ice lollies…(popsicles). They will be quite random, as they are taken with my point & shoot, which goes practically everywhere I...

I took the following photographs from a few different coastal towns near Newcastle. Firstly was the cutest, and tiniest, town of Belford where the local cafe is open from 10-4. Bamburgh Castle was the next town to visit. Then finishing with photographs of Laura Hebron’s newest addition to her jewelry collection, as well as an ice cream cone!

Illuminating Hadrian's Wall
Below are some photographs I took, on March 13th, of the Illumination of Hadrian’s Wall.
Torches were brought in to create a line of light from one end of the coast to the other. “A spectacular illuminating event at Wallsend will ignite the first of approximately 500 points of light, placed at 250m intervals from Wallsend along the Newcastle Quayside and out into Hadrian’s Wall...

Dioynsus ~ Art Exhibition
This past Friday, February 26th, a couple of friends of mine and I went to an opening night for an art exhibition down in the Ouseburn. It was fantastic. Definitely an artistic event! The exhibition took place in a hangar, which was perfect for the artwork to have enough room to breathe. The artwork & show was put on by two fourth year fine art students studying at Newcastle University; Rory...
