Dioynsus ~ Art Exhibition
This past Friday, February 26th, a couple of friends of mine and I went to an opening night for an art exhibition down in the Ouseburn. It was fantastic. Definitely an artistic event! The exhibition took place in a hangar, which was perfect for the artwork to have enough room to breathe. The artwork & show was put on by two fourth year fine art students studying at Newcastle University; Rory Biddulph & David Teager-Portman.
“Under the spell of the Dionysian it is not only the bond between man and man which is re-established: nature in its estranged, hostile, or subjugated forms also celebrates its reconciliation with its prodigal son, man. The individual, with all his limits and moderation, sank here into the self-oblivion of the Dionysian state”
Christine, Gao-Gao, & I met Rory and David at the opening; very nice guys. Hopefully with the new photography project I am undertaking, I’ll be able to photograph their work properly instead of using my little point & shoot for the images below.
